The Power Of The Dawn

Outer space has an average temperature of -455 degrees Fahrenheit. This is just four degrees shy of absolute zero where all molecular motion stops dead.
The nuclear inferno we call the sun is God’s priceless gift to us. It turns five million tons of matter a second to energy. This creates so much energy that we only receive one billionth of it and it is enough. Have you often thought of what this really means?
Imagine you were in the middle of a moonless Death Valley and the temperatures slid to -50 degrees. Imagine that you had one year, along with all the rest of the human race, to gather material to burn to keep that 5270 square mile desert a balmy 80ºF warm. If you lit all that was gathered on fire do you think you’d warm the whole desert one degree for one minute? No chance. Let’s pull this back a little.
The beautiful dark starlit sky you see at night is not a friendly place. It is hostile beyond anything you can imagine. It is pulling the earth every night toward temperatures of -455 degrees F where all molecular motion on earth would be nearly at a complete stand still. If left to do its work, that dark sky would freeze every living thing on earth solid in less than a minute. It would be mass extinction in sixty seconds. What stops it?
The power of the dawn.
The earth continues its 860 mile per hour spin during the hours of night. The greatest, grandest gift breaks in on us every new morning when that priceless gift of the infinite God plummets the earth with its power photons streaming at us at 186,000 miles per second.
God’s sun warms the entire Death Valley, and the entire earth, with less than one thousand millionth of its power. As a result, we can sightsee the beautiful Valley in the spring in a T-shirt and visit the beaches in complete wonderful comfort. We can’t raise Death Valley’s temperatures even one degree, no matter what we do.
There’s a sentence that ties the power of the dawn to God and us.
Breaking Out
Isaiah 58:8 is one of the most stop-you-in-your-tracks verses in the Bible. It reads,, “Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.” –Isaiah 58:8.
This is not a little thing.
God says “I am the God of all flesh. I made the earth and the animals upon it by My great power and My outstretched arm, is anything too difficult for Me?” When the Creator of the universe says your light will break forth like the dawn, it means the completely unthinkable will happen.
What happens with our light breaks out like the dawn? It creates the praise of the lips …our lips. We are stunned like Jacob was and weep so loudly for joy like Joseph did. We are like those who dream who were coming back to their homes with their families. (Genesis 45:2,26, Palms 126)
Never surrender hope in the God of creation. He has emphatically promised that He is the rewarder of those who seek Him. God cannot lie. He is aware of your every effort to please Him; every word, every action, every moment of forgiveness–everything. Your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily. You will yet powerfully see the goodness of the Lord!
"I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living." - Psalms 27:13
"But I said, “I have labored in vain, I have spent My strength for nothing and futility; Nevertheless, the justice due to Me is with the LORD, And My reward is with My God." - Isaiah 49:3
It can seem like God is unaware of our situation and has no intention of helping. Part of walking by faith and not by what we see is choosing to trust in the promises of God given in the Bible. Often a person of the world has a secret inner trust in themselves; God wants our secret inner trust to be in Him.
