Still
Forests haven’t changed. We just came back from Yosemite and Lake Tahoe. The pines and firs are still incredibly beautiful. Deer still graze in the meadows. The rivers and waterfalls and lakes still have water and still tremendously bless people.
Squirrels still perform their astonishing acrobatics, running up and down trees and leaping from branch to branch. The sun still shines by day giving wildly beautiful color to flowers, the sky and sunsets…and such comfortable warmth. The moon and the stars still fill the nighttime sky with astonishing beauty.
The same is true of the beaches. The seagulls are still making hilarious fusses. The sand still gives a wildly wonderful surface to walk and run on. The sun still rises and still sets on the beaches bringing astonishing beauty. The waves are still breaking for kids and moms and dads…and a whole lot of surfers who still capture a pretty sweet part of God’s creation.
More than His Creation, God is still. He still is there to comfort, help and guide. He still leads beside the quiet waters and green pastures. With God NOTHING is still impossible.
Mordecai and Esther faced an extreme plot to destroy. Not only were they going to lose all they held dear, but they were also going to lose their lives. But the God of Daniel, Joseph, Abraham, Moses and David stepped in at just the right moment and gave them–and their children and grandchildren–some pretty amazing sweetness.
The Most High still rules over the realm of mankind. God is still wildly clever and still intelligent beyond belief.
Rejoice in the God of the daisies. He still says to. Always. Why?
Because His thoughts toward us are still more than the sand of the seas…and He still reigns. He is still in control. He’s still got this one …and every other one.
Pray, rejoice, and work hard when it’s time—and rejoice some more. When the God of the daisies acts, things still get wildly good.
