SUPER-POWER HCL: HCl is formed in the stomach.  The large intestine is protected from it by a mucus lining.

SUPER-POWER HCL: The mucus lining in the stomach comes from a special tube running from the nose to the stomach.

SUPER-POWER HCL: HCl breaks down starches, not proteins.

SUPER-POWER HCL: Mucin is a protein that is usually sticky.

SUPER-POWER HCL: Mucus holds to the sides of the stomach because the mucin protein in it is sticky. Think.  Think.

SUPER-POWER HCL: There is an enzyme called pepsin which is released in the small intestine which liquifies meat.  

SUPER-POWER HCL: Parietal cells in the small intestine make pepsin which liquifies meat.

SUPER-POWER HCL: The acid HCl, hydrochloric acid, has two types of atoms, hydrogen and chlorine.

SUPER-POWER HCL: Hydrogen from hypochloric acid comes from water.

SUPER-POWER HCL: Once hydrogen is gained, it is then placed in bends of the parietal cells called canaliculi that look like the folds of drapes.  There it’s bonded with chlorine–which your body extracts from salt!
